Steering axle 074440000
In this project Borghi Assali, collaborating with Proplan Linde, was able to create a special steering axle, used when the rail-driven vehicle travels on the road. Thanks to special axles with motor wheels equipped with a lifting system, the road steering system remains raised during the movement on rail and can subsequently descend to the ground to guarantee directionality during movement on asphalt.

Unlike other vehicles, this one has only a steering capacity and not a traction one. The need to guarantee very high steering angles is fundamental for us, however we have also focused on strength, resistance to stress and durability of our axles. We have also taken great care to the design phase and to the choice of materials and components.

The very high quality materials used for the bushings and joints, as well as the perfect dimensioning of steering cylinders (produced internally), guarantee exceptional performances to our Axles. All this is completed by thermal and chemical treatments as well as special paints for all the components, in order to ensure durability even when used in hostile environments.
