In this project Borghi Assali has solved a special need of BMC Cranes on a new special fork crane. BMC wanted to produce a heavy duty fork crane with the same capacity of steering of the classic warehouse forklifts. Borghi Assali created an axle with high load capacity (16 tons.) and with a steering angle around the 100°. Problem solved.

This big fork crane is able to turn on its place like a very small forklift. This performance ensures a very big competitivity for this BMC product in the market of the floor cranes, mature market full of fierce competitors.
Innovation 3
For the optimal functionality of the vehicle it is necessary to execute precise calculations on steering geometry. Our Technical Department designs with the maximum care the steering geometry based on the wheel base of the vehicle and on the requested steering performances. Steering angle of the axle is not an issue.

Our patented solution of rear steering axle with high steering angle is applicable to all the different typologies of material handling machines, without problem of dimensions and load capacity.
Innovation 4
The performance check in steering action is a very important test, especially if the vehicle must operate in a very restricted area. Moreover, if the geometry of steering is perfect, the tire consumption will be reduced.
