The cooperation with Telestack was born with the need of this important English company to be able to equip their ship loaders with hydraulic traction units designed to be able, in a second step, to transform them into electrical ones. For the large Telestack Ship Loaders, two-wheel groups of 35 and 45 tons were built and 4-wheel boogies of 70 and 90 tons. Our company was also chosen for our guarantee of having the ability to deliver the wheel drives in a very short time and to have the adequate structure to be able to also support Telestack in the event of high production increases.

Innovation 1
The project was focused on the possibility of installing hydraulic and electric traction systems. Everything has been studied and structured so that there was no need to make any layout changes in the transition from hydraulic to electric. The main purpose of the customer was to be able to offer the market both the same hydraulic and electric machine, having also considerable advantages in the management of spare parts.

Innovation 2
The design of the boogies, composed of two groups with two wheels, has led to some challenges. Firstly the boogies had to be totally autonomously steering (while in other projects, especially in the mining sector, the boogies are turned after having been lifted from the ground); for this reason the two groups that make them up are both autonomously steering. Furthermore, the connection axis between the two groups has been specially designed to guarantee the perfect connection with the machine frame, guaranteeing the same height between the front (where two-wheel units are fitted) and the rear where the boogies are located.
