Electric horizontal drive wheels EBo610.000A
In this project Borghi Assali has solved a JBT special requirement, for the production of a container mover AGVs. This AGV has a load capacity of 30 tons. and moves itself self-propelled on three Borghi twin drive wheels (EBo610). The tyres in Vulkollan 94 Sh and the special layout of the units have ensured the load capacity with the minimum dimensions requested by the customer. The high power of the electric motors, obtained also with small dimension, has ensured the requested performances.

Innovation 1
With three steering EBo 610, the AGV can drive in all directions. This capacity helps the movement of the AGV in the restricted spaces, like warehouse and port containers area.
Innovation 3
The EBo610 in JBT AGV has one traction wheel and one idle wheel. We have chosen this configuration because, considering the customer need of total dimensions reduction, we have calculated that three traction motors were good enough to move the AGV at the requested performances.
Innovation 2
Our electric motors with internal incremental encoders, if necessary integrated for redundancy with external absolute encoders, are perfectly controlled by the sensors, the hardware and the software of the AGV, ensuring the precise positioning in maneuver.
Innovation 4
One of the bigger problems of the drive wheels with high load capacity is the steering in the stop position. This for two reasons: the torque and the power requested to the steering gearbox and motor and the risks to damage the tires. Borghi Assali has solved these problems with special gearboxes and special electric motors and with the use, allowed by electric controllers, of the traction motors in support of the steering movement.
