Borghi Assali in this project has solved a very important ATS AUTOMATION need in the production of self-propelled RDM transporter. This transporter has a load capacity of 20 tons. and moves on 4 Borghi production EBo single wheels. The Vulkollan 94 Sh tyres and the special configuration of the units, equipped with a special reinforced plate, have ensured the load capacity with the minimum dimensions required by the customer. The high power of the electric motors, even if small, have ensured the required performance.

Innovation 1
With 4 EBo.405 for traction and steering, the RDM transporter can move in all directions. This capacity allows the machine to move even in the smallest spaces.
Innovation 3
The EBo.405.00AGs used in the ATS Automation RDM transporter are all equipped with a traction and steering system. We have choosen this configuration because, despite the customer’s need to reduce the total dimensions, the required movement capacities made it necessary to have 4 traction motors.
Innovation 2
Our electric motors, custom built to our specifications and equipped with absolute encoders, are perfectly controlled by the AGV hardware and software, thus ensuring precise positioning during maneuvers.
Innovation 4
One of the biggest problems with high load capacity wheels is stationary steering. This for two reasons: the torque and the power required at the gearbox and the steering motor to perform the rotation. Borghi Assali has solved these problems with the use of special gearboxes and electric motors. Our customer ATS Automation also produces a smaller transporter on which 4 Borghi EBv250 vertical drive wheels are installed with a load capacity of 1650 kg.
