Port crane with a total weight of 520 tons. Handling is guaranteed by 14 Borghi EBo 1450 groups with a capacity of 36 tons each. Of these groups, all electric, 8 were made with traction and steering and 6 with only steering. This is because the high power of our electric motors has allowed us to obtain the required performance with the use of only 8 traction motors.

In consideration of the environment in which our EBo 1450 units operate (Indonesian port areas), it was necessary to provide special treatments against salt spray for all the unpainted components. On the other hand, for the paintable parts, a special C5M paint layer was added, which specifically protects from marine corrosion.
Small Dimentions - Easy to Manage - Energy Efficient
The designers of this port crane have asked very special performances to our motor wheels. With a maximum required speed of 1.5 km/h and a maximum slope of 8%, torque demand at low engine rpm was very high. Furthermore, given the hot and humid operating environment, it was necessary that the motors (inserted in the hub to reduce the overall dimensions) do not overheat even with a reduced rotation speed. Everything was solved with special motors and a high reduction ratio of the traction gearboxes.
Up to 120 Tons per Wheel
Given the high weight of this port crane and the division of the load over 14 units, we needed the certainty that all the 14 EBo 1450s were in contact with the ground at the same time, even in the event of uneven ground movement. Hence the decision was made to implement a hydraulic leveling system for each unit. Thanks to our knee joint and a hydraulic cylinder, we created a leveling system that ensures the contact of all the wheels on the ground in all conditions of movement.
